The Miami Valley Academy of Family Physicians will host a one-day workshop, "The Application of Point-of-Care Ultrasound in the Office Setting," on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at the Boonshoft School of Medicine in Fairborn, Ohio.  Lecture and hands-on training with standardized patients will take place on the scanning of the bladder, the upper quadrants of the abdomen, and the abdominal aorta.  

(Attendance is limited to 30 physicians.)

Family physicians attending this workshop will receive information on the use of point-of-care ultrasound in the office setting in a variety of settings, including hands-on training in scanning the bladder, upper quadrants of the abdomen and the abdominal aorta.  

The AAFP has reviewed The application of POCUS in the office setting and deemed it acceptable for up to 4.00 Live AAFP Prescribed credit(s). Term of Approval is from 09/06/2025 to 09/06/2025. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  AAFP Prescribed credit is accepted by the American Medical Association as equivalent to AMA PRA Category 1 credit(s)™ toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. When applying for the AMA PRA, Prescribed credit earned must be reported as Prescribed, not as Category 1.
